All companies applying for a commercial trade license, must have had at least one qualifying party pass the Business and Law Exam as one of the requirements for approval of the license.

1. Asphalt Paving Manual (MS-8), 3rd Edition, 1978, Asphalt Institute. (Appears to be out of print.)
2. Concrete Manual, International Code Council.
3. Moving the Earth: The Workbook of Excavation, Herbert L. Nichols, Jr. and David A. Day.
4. Residential Concrete, Harold W. Connor, Laurence Miller.
5. Successful Parking Lot Striping: A Contractor's Guide, 1993, Aberdeen Group Division of Hanley Wood (out of print).

 

According to the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors, "The 'trade' examinations are based upon general working knowledge of the field in which you wish to be licensed." In their study guide, the Board states that the reference materials listed "may NOT necessarily cover all information needed to pass the exam." The study guide also states that "the reference list contains a representative sample of materials that are available which contain information relevant to the examination."
