  • Earthwork, Drainage and Levees
  • Fencing
  • Highway and Street Sub-surface Drainage and Sewer Work
  • Landscaping, Grading and Beautification
  • Permanent or Paved Highways and Streets:
    • Asphalt Hot and Cold Plant Mix
    • Asphalt Surface Treatment
    • Concrete
    • Soil Cement
  • Secondary Roads
  • Steel Bridges, Over and Underpasses
  • Wood Bridges, Over and Underpasses
  • Undersealing or Leveling of Roads

All companies applying for a commercial trade license, must have had at least one qualifying party pass the Business and Law Exam as one of the requirements for approval of the license.

According to the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors, "The 'trade' examinations are based upon general working knowledge of the field in which you wish to be licensed." In their study guide, the Board states that the reference materials listed "may NOT necessarily cover all information needed to pass the exam." The study guide also states that "the reference list contains a representative sample of materials that are available which contain information relevant to the examination."
