Our Study System

ContractorExam.Coms' Study System starts with our commitment to being able to provide exam preparation material that will enable a construction professional to study with peace of mind.  When you have taken advantage of CEC's building block study materials you will be confident on test day.

The study system includes 4 types of exam preparation building blocks/materials, each designed to enhance one another, but not be redundant. State classifications differ from state to state.  Therefore, you can be assured that each of our exam preparations are different.

We already have many State Classifications in our database, but if we don't have the classification you are looking for, then, tell us what state trade classification you need, we'll research it for you and we'll design your preparation materials accordingly!

The Video Training Courses are the first of our training building blocks.  These courses are designed for the professional who does not have the time to take a day off to come to class but would like to set in on a lectured class. He/she does have time in the day, or evening, to set aside some quality study time in front of her VCR and have class at his/her convenience.  The advantage of the DVD Study Course is that any concepts that are not understood, can be watched over and over.

Another advantage of the DVD Study Courses is that you actually can be involved in a lectured class, hearing the explanation of exam concepts, math, accessing Code book information and other subjects pertinent to your exam, without spending the time and money to go to class.

The second building block in our training system is the Tutorial.  The Tutorial contains questions, answers, correct answers, and page/paragraph reference to the book where the question has been taken, commentary on the question where needed, math solutions where needed, and diagrams when the question refers to one.

The Tutorial is designed for the individual who needs to have and own printed study aids.  We also call the Tutorial one of our building blocks because you have the all important "book" reference to follow along with in the Code book or reference book should you choose to purchase these additional study aids.

Having your own Reference and Code books is to often overlooked as a necessary part of the study process.  Many exams are open book and you can take the book into the exam as a reference.  The Tutorial, when used properly, will help you learn the skill of accessing information in the books - a much needed skill on exam day.

The third building block in our training system is the Practice Tests which are designed to be a compliment to the Tutorial and to be used only after you've studied the Tutorial or EEQ Learner material, not a complete training aid.  It is what the name implies, a practice test, designed to test your knowledge. Practice tests, for most classifications, are available in a progressive set of three, normal difficulty, moderate difficulty, and difficult.

The fourth building block in our training system is the EEQ Learner Computer Software. The program is delivered to you on a CDROM disk, loads by itself and is self prompting. Operates on Microsoft Windows based computers.*

The EEQ Learner is designed for the construction professional who is comfortable at a PC or laptop, does not have time to attend class, enjoys the use of his/her computer and wants to have the feel of test preparation on a computer much the same as the computerized exams.

The software program contains the same information as the printed materials: questions, answers, correct answer, page/paragraph reference to the book where the question has been taken, commentary on the question where needed, math solutions where needed, and diagrams when the question refers to one.  In addition the program will time you in a practice exam and keep track of your score.
