General Info
Licenses are not issued at the state level for building contractors.  Please check with your local municipality to see if they require a license. Contractors must be registered with the State Attorney General.  Licenses are issued for electrical, plumbing, HVACR and Home Improvement contracting.  Contact the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing for information.
Reciprocity
Electrical – None at this time, however, you may contact the Board if you are a licensed master electrician to see if you qualify for a waiver for taking the exam.

HVACR – If you meet the requirements equivalent to Maryland and hold a license in good standing in another state, you may qualify for a reciprocal license.
