License Exam Preparation

General Info

As of Jan 2010, Electrical exams will be based on the 2005 NEC.

Licenses are required for commercial and residential construction, HVACR, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical.  There are many sub-classifications for each category.  In addition, Clark County requires a separate license for electricians working in the county.

Reciprocity
Nevada has limited reciprocity with Arizona, California, and Utah, which only applies to the trade specific portion of exams, and does not include any electrical or plumbing trades.  A license in good standing for 5 out of the last 7 years is required and you must have passed an exam equivalent to Nevada’s.
