License Exam Preparation

General Info

Licenses are required for specialty contractors including HVACR, plumbing, and electrical.  In addition, home builders are required to register with the state.  Some local municipalities require you to be licensed if work is being performed in that local.  Check at the local level before beginning any projects.  If they require licensure, they will give you the necessary information on obtaining the license.

Reciprocity
Plumbing – If you are licensed in another state, whether master or journeyman, you are eligible to obtain a TX journeyman license.

Electrical – Louisiana – the agreement allows for reciprocal licensure of Texas master electricians and the qualifying persons for statewide Louisiana licensed electrical contractors only. No journeyman, residential wireman, etc.
