We have created a free table (found at the button below) that relates specific NEC articles to the subject areas listed in the exam exam bulletin published by the Minnesota DOLI.
NEC Chapter | Sub- Categories | Knowledge Areas |
---|---|---|
— | 4 | Introduction (90) |
1 | 8 | General Requirements |
2 | 74 | Wiring and Protection |
3 | 44 | Wiring Methods and Materials |
4 | 32 | Equipment for General Use |
5 | 15 | Special Occupancies |
6 | 14 | Special Equipment |
7 | 7 | Special Conditions |
8 | 4 | Communications Systems |
9 | 3 | Tables |
— | 9 | Applied Electrical Theory, Electrical Systems and Equipment |
NOTE: The study material we are offering for this exam will include sample questions for the last subject area (above) from “Ugly's Electrical References” which will be added to your order.
NOTE: Since the DOLI bulletin does not list specific "Codes and Rules" sections (from reference #2) to study for your exam, they will not be included in our sample questions.
We highly recommend that you purchase one of the reference books above to study for your exam. Each book is a comprehensive subject index to the NEC. They provide an even faster way to look up answers in the code and are far more detailed than the index at the end of the code book.
The book above contains practical applications of the NEC such as Ohm‘s Law, series/parallel circuits, voltage drop, load calculations, motor phases, impediance, inductance and math formulas you are expected to know. “Basic Knowledge” and “Electrical Calculations” are subjects covered in the exam and are assumed (most likely not listed as a subject for electrical and mechanical exams of all types).
This package contains approx. 2,530 sample questions from the NEC and the 2020 Ugly's Reference.
Code sections are based on the table we have designed (linked above) and matched with subjects called out in sub-sections lised by the exam bulletin.
Additional bonus sample calculations for Ohm's Law and Series/Parallel combination circuits are included.
Questions in this version do not include statues.
