NOTICE: If your ProV exam bulletin shows an older (out-of-print) version of the American Electricians' Handbook, you should buy the current the 17th edition.
NOTICE: We believe that the book list is in error regarding the purchase of both the National Electrical code AND the NEC Handbook. As other exam providers state in their recommendations, you should buy one or the other book title. The handbook is the same code text with illustrations added.
We highly recommend that you purchase one of the two NEC index books above to study for your exam. Each book is a comprehensive subject index to the NEC. They provide an even faster way to look up subjects covered in the exam and are far more detailed than the index at the end of the code book.
