We highly recommend that you purchase one of the two NEC index books above to study for your exam. Each book is a comprehensive subject index to the NEC. They provide an even faster way to look up subjects covered in the exam and are far more detailed than the index at the end of the code book.
QUESTION: “What is the difference between the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the NEC Handbook (both published by NFPA)?”. The Handbook has the same content as the NEC book with additional drawings and explainations inserted.
The Handbook was designed for engineers and inspectors. The typical exam candidate should not use it as a prefered reference unless they are using it for inspection jobs in their day-to-day work.
Sample questions are sourced from the NEC and Ugly's Electrical Reference shown above.
This sample question package contains 2,455 items.
The files you will receive containing questions also have organized lists of bookmarks that help the user easily and randomly navigate code subsections by article number.
Each answer key contains an index of question numbers and their relationship to exam subject categories.
